National Ice Age Floods Trail in Tualatin

Jerianne Thompson, Library DirectorLibrary Director Jerianne Thompson serves as City of Tualatin’s liaison with partner organizations to promote Tualatin’s local Ice Age Floods history.

She is secretary for the Tualatin Ice Age Foundation. Tualatin has allowed her to combine her passion for providing library users access to learning opportunities with her interest in history and fossils.

In her talk, Jerianne will share how Tualatin emerged as one of the first Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail partners with the National Parks Service, including being a pilot location for the NPS Junior Ranger program and the Tualatin Ice Age Foundation’s plans to create a local Ice Age Floods interpretive center.
